How to throw an AWESOME Game of Thrones Finale Viewing Party on a Budget

Sunday Night brought us the Battle of King’s Landing. While I did enjoy the episode, I have to admit there were parts that were a bit of a let down for me…

Of course, this post is not a review of the episode, so have no fear – there won’t be any spoilers in this post. Keeping that in mind, if you want to throw an AWESOME viewing party for the finale next week, a viewing party worthy of any Prince or Princess that was Promised, then you have come to the right place!

So, we are now 4 days away from the series finale of Game of Thrones and I know what you’re thinking, there is no way that I can throw an awesome viewing party together in 4 days, well you can do it! And I have got all of the tips you need!

Every viewing party or party in general has essentials that you need to check of the list – venue, guest list, invitations, food. Those are the big four things, and I have got this down so that you can have all of those things checked off before the end of tomorrow!

So first things first, do you have a place where you can host the viewing party? That is the most important thing, if you do great you’re ahead of the game. If not, that’s OK, don’t start panicking yet. Go to one of your friends who you talk GOT with all the time who has their own place and ask them if they want to co-host the viewing party! Sometimes having two people pulling a party together will be better for everything, double the assist on planning, set up and cleaning!

So, you now have the venue, you have figured out either by yourself or with your co-host who you are going to be inviting, great! Now you’re thinking how am i going to invite all of these people quick and easy – there is always creating a Facebook event or, you can use Evite.com. Evite has free invitations, and guess what, they even have Game of Thrones themed invitations!

Not only is Evite great for making your invitations, it is also great for sending them out either via email or you can even connect your Facebook account to it! Of course, if that’s not all, on your Evite you can include a “What to Bring List” which can help alleviate to cost of food – obviously, you still want to make sure you have things that you are going to buy or make, but by having your guests BYOB and a snack or bring something from the list, this will make that grocery or liquor bill a lot smaller!

Alright, you have the venue, the invitations, the guest are starting to RSVP and they are pitching in with the food – what else is there? Well depending on how hardcore you want to go with the party you can have games, decorations, and other fun things at the party. For these, I LOVE going and find the free printables on Pinterest. Even if you go to Staples and have things printed out there or print them out at work, you can ensure a good time is had by all before the episode. Below are a few of my favorites:

Why Did They Have to Die? – or you can play “Dead Pool” to see who can guess who will be left alive/dead at the end of everything

Honestly, Pinterest is going to be your best friend for all things decorations and game wise for your party!!

Let’s go through the checklist – Venue? check! Guest List? check! Invitations sent out? check! Party Games & Decorations? check!

Looks like you are all set – now you can sit back and try to figure out who will end up sitting on the Iron Throne or if the Iron Throne will even still exists after Sunday’s Series Finale!!
