March Blog Challenge – Day 13

Hi Readers,

For today’s challenge post we have another list so I’m going to jump right into 🙂

My Top 10 Favorite Female Superheroes

10: Bat Girl
I like Bat Girl, as she was portrayed in the movie Batman and Robin, played by Alicia Silverstone, she provided a balance that seemed to be missing from the dark duo of Batman and Robin.

9: Elektra
Not only does she rock the scarlet color – she is one of the greatest female assassins in all comics that I can think of.

8: Daisy Johnson
Also known as “Quake”, Daisy is an inhuman working for S.H.I.E.L.D and she is definately someone you do not want to piss off in an alley, she is a woman who can not only take care of herself, but also take care of those who can’t protect themselves.

7: Melinda May
Also known as “The Calvary”, Melinda May is one of my favorite agents of S.H.I.E.L.D, from her combat skills to just her bad-ass personality, she is definately in the top 10.

6: Scarlet Witch
I like Scarlet Witch, not only because she can really rock the scarlet color, but also because she can alter the things around her and bend them to her will. Whether, it is when she was misgided and fighting against the Avengers and snuck into their dreams, or when she worked along side them, she is a hero that everyone can get behind.

5: Jean Grey
One of the first female X-Men, Jean Grey was an integral part of the team. She is so powerful on her own, that she is definatly one of my favorite X-Men, and strong enough to be in the top 5 of my top 10 favorite female superheroes.

4: SuperGirl
Cousin to Superman, this alien is so strong and knows how to protect people. But one of the things I love most about her, is that even though she is so strong and independent she is still suseptable to experiances that we mear mortals are, like crushes, and even down days.

3: Black Widow
Whether you know her from comic books, or from the Marvel Cinematic Universe, to me Black Widow is one of the greatest comeback and redemption stories – former KGB agent who became on of the greatest spies and agents for S.H.I.E.L.D

2: Wonder Woman
Wonder Woman has always been one of the best female superheroes ever she has been a role model for girls to be strong, and protective of her loved ones and the planet.

1: Peggy Carter
Now, I know that Peggy Carter is not technically a superhero, but she totally should be. Without her though, I firmly believe that Captain America and the Howling Commandos would not have been as effective as they were. Not only that, but she defied the odds of a woman in her time period by how independent and strong she was as compared to her male counter parts.

Now, I know in my top 10 I talked a lot about how these women had a huge strength in protecting those around them, and to me, that is one of the things i love about all female superheros – they have a protective instinct that not all of the male superheroes in the different universes might have.

Do you have a favorite female superhero? Who is it and why? I’d love to hear from you!
