So the last weekend of August, and the weekend of September 17th were totally dominated by my favorite group, Celtic Thunder.
On Sunday August 28th, my best friends and I went to the Oakdale Theatre in Wallingford, CT for one of the first shows in the Fall 2016 Celtic Thunder Legacy tour. Before the concert we had a fun filled day in Wallingford (but that is for another post 🙂 ). I love going to the Oakdale venue, it’s a great intimate location where even if you are way in the back you can still see everything. As we sat outside before the venue, one of the principal singers, Emmet Cahill, came out and we got to talk with him for a little while before he had to go back inside to get ready for the show. Like all of the other guys, Emmet is always so sweet with fans outside the venue, he takes the time to stop and chat and even take some pictures.
The show itself was amazing. The guys always have such a great time and they audience is always treated not only to a great show, but a great feeling of immense happiness, and the better the crowd, the better the show. During intermission, my friends and I met up with some of the ladies from the Emmet Cahill Official Street team for a group photo at the front of the stage. To see so many people who support not only this amazingly talented artist, but this incredible group of men from Ireland who continue to share their talents, and passion for music, and more over their national Irish pride.
Of course, if you are lucky enough, like my friends and I were, you can also attend a VIP Meet & Greet after the show with two of the guys. For our Meet & Greet, we got to spend time with Emmet Cahill and Neil Byrne. We played games and got to talk with them, and then once the games and talking was done we got to spend a few seconds one on one with Emmet and Neil, and in the few seconds, pictures are taken. It was just an awesome time.
Then on September 17th, I traveled to Atlantic City, NJ with my mum and da to see Celtic Thunder preform at Ceaser’s in Atlantic City. The point of this trip was part of a celebration for my mum’s birthday. We didn’t get to stay in Ceaser’s, but we stayed at the Showboat which was amazing! But, I am talking about the AMAZING show we saw that Saturday night.
As amazing as the show had been when I saw it in August, that September night the guys seemed
even more in tune to the audience, and it was beyond what I had expected. Once again during intermission I was able to meet another amazing group of members from the Emmet
Cahill Official Street Team. It was an amazing show with amazing new friend and family. We didn’t run into any of the guys during the day before the show, however after the show, My folks and I were hanging out in the casino and we saw, you guest it, Emmet walking with his gear headed
towards the bus. Now, knowing what a strict schedule the guys have on the tour I was just going to wave, of course Emmet being the sweetheart that he is, waved us over and my folks and I went over and talked with him for a little bit. He then asked if i wanted to take a picture so I said “Sure” and handed him my phone. The result was probably the best selfie I have ever taken… mostly because I didn’t take it, Emmet did.
All in all, if you have a chance to go see Celtic Thunder while they are on tour this fall, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND it! I can guarantee that you will have an amazing time, full of laughter, wonderful music, and an amazing time overall.
Let me know in the comments if you have seen Celtic Thunder or if you think it would be a show that you would enjoy! ❤
